The Morris Ocean Series 48 is a high-performance cruising yacht that is custom built to a high level of craftmanship: Extremely durable and perfectly suited for fast, efficient cruising while still being easy to take out for an afternoon sail. The raised salon provides excellent visibility from the interior and creates an easy three step transition from the cockpit to the interior.
CONSULTING TIME II was built for an experienced yachtsman and his wife who worked with Morris to customize her with many options incorporated into a very functional two cabin, two head layout with a dinette up under the raised salon and the galley a step down midships where she’s comfortable to work in both underway and while at anchor.
Despite her efficiency and speed, the MY48 gives up nothing in comfort. Her interior gleams with hand-built furnishings and precision-fitted joinerwork—thick handholds, gorgeous cherry wood, layers of carefully applied varnish. Her large interior provides ample space for the tankage, systems, and storage space necessary for extended offshore passages.

The hull is vacuum-bagged laminate of Kevlar/E-glass laminate layer in both the outer and inner skin over a 1’ Corecell core using Vinylester resin. A hard core was utilized in areas receiving load bearing hardware.
Hull deck joint is solid glass hull shelf bedded to deck with 3M 5200 and mechanically fastened every 8”.

The interior layout accommodates four people in two private sleeping areas, one person in the pilot berth and one or two additional berths on the settee. There are two tables for the settee, depending on the needs of the owner. One table is a single piece and the settee will make into a double berth. The other table folds and with it in place, the settee becomes a single berth. A large head forward is connected to the master cabin and a second head aft includes a separate stall shower which can double as a wet locker on deliveries. The U-shaped galley is aft of the forward cabin and head to port with a pilot berth and storage opposite to starboard. The dinette and navigation station are under the raised portion of the saloon and enjoy abundant light and visibility to the outside.
